Dave Mason - Look At You Look At Me

Saw Dave in Sacramento mid 80s, small club maybe 60 people Was blown out. My childhood hero from Traffic. Took a little cutie maybe 20 years younger, she could not see what the excitement was about.

Put her on a bus back to Ridgecrest Haven't thought about it; forgot it even existed. Happened upon it by chance, looking for some other song. Gave it a listen and thought, 'Oh wow, I remember this. Listened again. Going back for another listen, lol.

So good. Older brothers loved him so I've had his greatest hits for 25? I always thought nothing special. But, just back into albums and got his albums as extras. So lucky I did. Is there another underappreciated artist out there? I get it now!! Every one should be rocking to this. Yeppers, I still have this amazing marbled vinyl. Spent many hours having a doobie while sitting in a candle lit room. As much as I enjoyed the whole song, I was always in a rush to hear the solo. Love to be 19 again.

Maybe I partied more often than I should have, but I never missed work and was always on time. Almost fifty years later, still groovin to the tunes. I still get goosebumps when I hear this tune, especially the last two minutes So much good music out in the first few years of the 70's His album with Cass is another to me gem!!

DM put out nothing but first class music Saw Dave Mason at a balloon festival in NJ about , only about 30 people in the audience, while I was thrilled to see him so close and personal, I felt bad for him knowing that most didn't realize what a star this guy is!

I have to agree with all those that feel this is indeed one of the great solos in rock. Hos tone is SO emotive and clear and expressive. I wonder if he was playing a Les Paul in the bridge position? Maybe P90s? Whatever is was, it is killer. Music was in its prime in the 60's and 70's folks. You should inspire from here!

Keep the good stuff! This guitar solo compliments the song without overshadowing it, as if an extension of the thought and mood that prevails throughout, but with the soulful wail of the lone guitar taking you deeper.

A rare display of subtlety and virtuoso. He played this whole album Simply amazing the music from those times is ageless! I have been looking for this song for a long long time The only thing I remembered was Looking all around me, what do I see. I always thought it was Dave Mason. I also knew it had a great solo. And here it is, in all its glory. Preserved for us all to here and remember, a better time, when the music was pure and special and enlightening.

Thank You U Tube for being here. To all the others who like this song, I feel we all are lucky to have this song pulled from the ravages of time and placed here for all of us to enjoy. This has gotten a lot of plays over the last five years, as the cream rises to the top!

One of the best live shows I ever saw him at Folsom Field in Colorado you don't know what you missed. Don't take down Justin Bieber, because he woulld be high fiving it too. It was very popular on Detroit area FM at that time. When radio played songs of any length because music at least seemed to played more of a role. Now advertisers are all radio is about. I bought the marbled vinyl album. Still have it. This tune still rocks after all these years. Mason is a great musician. Top notch album, and my favorite tune on it.

Definitely one of my top rock songs of all time. One of the great musicians of the modern age. Incredible catalog and still going strong. Current tour with Steve Cropper is outstanding. This record is on my desert island list. I truly wish I was alive when this music was being introduced to the world. I'm 35 and my father showed me this music when I was 15 or so That being a good thing though!!!! Thanks Dad!!! I'm wondering in different time periods with the rhythm of all these great musicians and feeling elated!!

Thank you. The last solo makes my hair stand on end. Dave is truly an emotional guitarist who is blessed with a unique sound you can recognize in the first bar of any of his songs. Pity the lost souls who waste their time listening to the crap that passes for today's popular music. This song and album are from era when many of us took this wonderful music for granted. Well, those days are long gone and we now realize that artists like Dave Mason and so many others were and are gifts from the music gods I never took the music for granted.

It was a special time of genius and I lived it. It is embedded in my soul. Rock and Roll hall of famer who gets almost no airplay or recognition. My all time favorite. I think of Hendrix, all along the watchtower Lots of changing faces Lots of things to be But I'm happy just to be A part of all I see As I turn around to look at you And you look back at me There isn't time to hang around Anymore So fill your heart with lovin' And open up the door Someone's calling out to you That's what love is for As I turn around to look at you And you look back no more I'm feeling low I'm feeling down My head's been twisted, yeah All around But now my feet, oh yeah Are on the ground For everyone to see There's many ways to reach you Though you're far away All the little things we do The little things we say I miss you like I miss the sun I need you every day As I turn around to look at you And you look back my way Lookin' all around me What do I see?

Lots of changing faces Lots of things to be But I'm happy just to be Part of all I see As I turn around to look at you And you look back at me I'm feeling low I'm feeling down My head's been twisted, yeah All around But now my feet, oh yeah Are on the ground For everyone to see I remember meeting Dave Mason in the early 90's at a small bar in Ft.

A classic album in more ways than one. If you have it, you know what I mean. Think marble Seen Dave Mason a few times. The measure of an artist is their live performances, and he needs no studio help I used to have the original limited fold out sleeve with the marble vinyl! Dave played a 12 string acoustic in the Hendrix recording of All along the Watchtower; later released his own cover.

Amazing in concert. Rio Rio. Avi Ebriani. Bob Bennert. Scott Bartlett. Bill Earnshaw. The Raisin. Tom Setcoski.

Dave Mason - All Along the Watchtower Lyrics

Sign In Register. Artist: Dave Mason. Album: Miscellaneous. There must be some way out of here Said the joker to the thief There's too much confusion yeah, yeah I can't get no relief Businessmen they drink my wine Plowmen dig my earth None of them along the line, nobody Nobody is of any worth No reason to get excited The thief, he kindly spoke There are many here among us, now yeah Who feel that life is but a joke But you and I, we've been through that And this is not our fate, no, no, no So let us not talk falsely now Because the hour, the hour is getting late, yeah All along the watchtower Princess kept the view While all the women came an' went Barefoot servants too Outside in the distance A wildcat did growl Two riders were approaching yeah, yeah And the wind began to howl All along the watchtower, all along the watchtower All along the watchtower, all along the watchtower All along the watchtower, all along the watchtower Yeah, yeah.

Look At You Look At Me chords by Dave Mason

David Thomas Mason born 10 May is an English singer-songwriter and guitarist from Worcester , who first found fame with the rock band Traffic. One of Mason's best known songs is " Feelin' Alright ", recorded by Traffic in and later by many other performers, including Joe Cocker , whose version of the song was a hit in For Traffic, he also wrote " Hole in My Shoe ", a psychedelic pop song that became a hit in its own right. Within the same year, Mason started a new electric guitar company with business partner and Industrial Designer Ravi Sawhney. Mason's tenure with Traffic was disjointed. He was a founding member of the group, but left following the release of their debut album, Mr. Fantasy , only to rejoin halfway through the sessions for their next album, Traffic , after which he left again. Last Exit , a compilation of odds and ends, features little material by Mason apart from his song "Just for You". Traffic later re-formed without Mason, although he briefly began working with the band for a third time, touring with them in and playing on Welcome to the Canteen. In his brief spells with the group, Mason never quite fit in; Steve Winwood later recalled, "We all [Winwood, Jim Capaldi and Chris Wood] tended to write together, but Mason would come in with a complete song that he was going to sing and tell us all what he expected us to play.

Dave Mason - Look At You Look At Me lyrics

It was not really any different; all I was doing was putting some acoustic guitar and electric guitar together. In fact, song for song, this is probably the best thing that Dave Mason has ever done. Of course, Clapton was a better guitarist than everyone and, surprisingly, a better singer too; Mason rarely seems to reach the depths of pain and emotion that his lyrics would suggest although, here again, I find that his lyrics are frequently too self-referential e. While the two albums clearly stand on their own, had Mason remained with Traffic and interleaved this material with Barleycorn , it would have been a brilliant double album.

Lookin' all around me What do I see? There isn't time to hang around Anymore So fill your heart with lovin' And open up the door Someone's calling out to you That's what love is for As I turn around to look at you And you look back no more. I'm feeling low I'm feeling down My head's been twisted, yeah All around But now my feet, oh yeah Are on the ground For everyone to see There's many ways to reach you Though you're far away All the little things we do The little things we say I miss you like I miss the sun I need you every day As I turn around to look at you And you look back my way.
